Mercedes-Benz Assyst Plus Servicing
Mercedes-Benz uses Assyst Plus to indicate recommended vehicle maintenance intervals. The lettering ranges from Service A through G and varies dramatically vehicle by vehicle. These should be seen as a guide and not a determination of exactly what your vehicle needs or how long it can go between services. For the Chicago climate we recommend you have your car inspected and the oil changed every 7K miles or twice a year.
The dealer has a clever way of portraying these standard maintenance intervals and the way in which the cost is applied. Sure, the standard "B-service" costs between $450 and $650. For that you get an oil change, a filter and an inspection - the bulk of the cost is the inspection. After the inspection a list of service items is determined to complete the B-Service - these could add up to more than $1000. So very quickly what you thought was $650 becomes $1650 to complete the service. With Rennology Motor Sport, you will pay approx $150 for the same oil change, inspection and filter that the dealer charges $650 for. Even with a full list of B-Service items, at Rennology Motor Sport you are likely to be at least $300 better off once the B-Service is complete.
